Wastage Dashboards: take the first step to reduce wastage

At what point do you know that wastage has taken place in your business?

Maybe when you see supplies running low too soon? Or maybe when you see that the revenue is disproportionate to the expenses?

If you’d like to put an end to unnecessary wastage, Kounta Insights has an exciting new dashboard for you.

What causes Wastage?

Wastage is a symptom of a deeper problem – especially if the wastage is recurring. There are mainly four reasons why recurring wastage occurs:

  1. An ineffective purchasing strategy – too much stock that can go bad
  2. Storage or shelf life issues – problems either with refrigeration or the goods themselves
  3. Production issues – commonly seen as wastage of finished products
  4. Theft – supplies just vanish and cannot, in any way, be accounted for

What can you do about it?

To find out why wastage is happening in your venue, the first step is to empower your staff to record wastage incidents as they happen. The Wastage add-on on Kounta POS makes it easy for staff to record these incidents (and vital details) straight from Kounta POS.

After the Wastage add-on has been enabled and used by the staff to record wastage incidents, the data is fed to the Kounta Insights’ Wastage Dashboards to create beautiful, interactive reports that allows you to look at wastage from all angles and spot any trends.

Drill into the wastage data by date, by staff, by reporting group, and more. Even missing information can tell you something – this can signal theft or covered up mistakes. So take the first step to reducing wastage today!

Instagram post 18057600388170474 The Awards season in hospitality often sparks a sense of inspiration for many. For some it might inspire them to work more closely with local farmers and producers, others might be left rethinking their brand, and for many, it might fuel a desire to open a restaurant of their own. But desire and inspiration alone won’t create reality. Restaurants are a dynamic and broad collective of businesses; from Quick-Service style to Fine Dining, encompassing ethnic foods like Indian, Thai or Mexican, featuring Burger Joints and Vegan businesses, they are the ultimate vehicle to express your Food and Beverage concept and can offer a very good return on invested capital. So why wouldn’t you? Well, whilst opening a Restaurant is an incredibly exciting adventure, it’s also deeply complex in equal parts. With an imposing financial investment and the high risk of hospitality’s most competitive segment, opening a restaurant deserves careful consideration and deliberate, thorough planning to ensure success. We’ve broken down the three key areas to focus on, and rounded up the best resources to help create your next reality. Link in Bio.
